Will St. John
(b. 1980) graduated with a degree in Creative Writing and Linguistics from the New School for Social Research in New York City in 2003. Driven by a desire to learn the techniques of traditional painting and drawing, he enrolled in Nelson Shanks’ class at the Art Students League of New York. A year later he moved to Philadelphia to study with Shanks full-time at Studio Incamminati. In pursuit of his lifelong fascination with European painting, St. John attended Studio Escalier in France where he studied under Tim Stotz, Michelle Tully, and Ted Seth Jacobs. While abroad, he traveled across the continent visiting over two dozen of the continent's most renowned museums. Upon his return Will sought out his current teacher and mentor, Jacob Collins, and enrolled at the Water Street Atelier where he currently studies. Will was the recipient of the Anna Lee Stacey Scholarship in 2008 and the Leslie T Posey Foundation Scholarship in 2009.
